In addition to the chateau, the town hall, several churches and other monuments, local attractions also include the Krčma tavern, which could easily be featured in a historical film with no major modifications. Mysterious places shrouded in myth are also worth seeing: the Church of St. Anna, the turret of which a ghost descends from, a stone on Zámecký vrch, on which the devil is said to have sat, and the Lanškroun chateau, from where it is said that one can still walk through an underground passage to Nový zámek (New Chateau) near Rudoltice. But the passage is secret and no one knows anything about it.
Although Doctor and Philosopher Johannes Marcus Marci (1595–1667) and Olympic champion Roman Šebrle (1974) were born in Lanškroun, all famous personalities are surpassed by one local spectre: the ghost of the evil chief Rieder. He appeared at night in many terrible forms, and people were naturally afraid of him. After some time, they called an enchanter, who imprisoned the spirit in a bottle and immersed it in a mountain lake in the Krkonoše Mountains. But Rieder is still the hero of many Lanškroun stories and pastimes.

Southwest of Lanškroun, you can see the torso of the Liechtenstein Baroque chateau, of which only one tower with extensive underground cellars survived after the fires. Several nature trails will guide you through the area; they lead around the Lanškroun ponds and through the valley of the Moravská Sázava; by Dlouhý rybník (pond) there is a recreational spot with an outdoor swimming area and a boat, paddle boat and surfboard rental in the summer. In nearby Mladějov you can visit the Industrial Museum with a narrow-gauge railway.
